I got Oregon but nick fairley is the only reason I can believe Auburn can win. If he is able to get some TFLs, then the ducks may not be able to do what they want offensively but I see the ducks giving the tigers the business. What's your opinion on how things will turn out
Also What sportscasters do you love/hate? Love Kirk Herbstreit and Musberger Kirk always fights for the little guy (Boise and TCU) and I've like Musberger since he was in the studio doing NFL today on CBS Always love watching their broadcasts even if I don't care for the teams playing. Verne Lundquist/Gary danielson Same reasons. both have great insight and great chemistry. seems like they are having fun doing what they do other good ones craig james/rece davis/jesse palmer i also love it when mark may and holtz go at it. very funny dynamic.
todd blackledge is lucky to get to eat across the country. everytime i travel to a new region, i make it a point to visit a local restaurant. some of the stuff he eats though, i would have to pull a randy moss..."wtf is this shit?" but most of the food he eats looks good!
hate theisman/millen joe theisman is captain obvious. absolutely no insight. wrong on a bunch of stuff and very pig headed. matt is the same but on lower level joe buck troy aikman they generally does nfc east games and will get into a dallas cowboy/ elite caucasian qb slurpfest. I'm generally watching and saying to myself "why is a game between jon kitna and and rex grossman getting a network's number one broadcast team? and why are they mentioning brett favre once every five minutes." shit aggravates me to no end.
feel free to comment...

I picked Oregon, but it could really go either way.
Commentators I hate...
Lee Corso has always been ridiculous and now he's senile, so now its even more embarrassing to watch.
I hate almost every NFL commentator team EXCEPT for Troy and Joe. I don't watch their games that much (cus I'm an AFC guy), but at least they're intelligent. Most others point out of the obvious (lookin at you Phil Simms).
I'd also like to take a moment to express my hate for Colin fucking Cowherd. I can't stand that shock jock douchebag. He's arrogant, rude, makes bad arguments, and worst of all, is a complete big market kiss ass. He once said MLB doesn't need a salary cap because theres enough parody in the league already... The Yankees have won 7 world series since I have been alive, (I'm 25), so that means one team (which represents 1/30th of the league, or ~3%) wins 30% of all titles. Do you think its a coincidence that team is also usually the highest paid? Go to hell Cowherd!

Im a Big 10 guy so I hate the SEC but I'm taking Auburn w/ my head instead of Oregon w/ my heart....
3 main reasons:
1. I don't think Oregon's tempo or team speed will overwhelm an Auburn team that sees elite skill position players on a weekly basis...James/Barner/Thomas can fly but so can Jeff Demps/Russell Shepard/Maze/etc... To beat Auburn I think Oregon has to test them in the secondary but they dont have the elite bigger receivers that UGA/SC/LSU/ALA used to expose them this season...
2. Oregons defense is overrated (as are almost all Pac-10 and Big-12 defenses excluding Stanford/USC in the past/Oklahoma)...both conferences tend to struggle w/ teams that are balanced and like to run the ball...last I checked Auburn has a physical presence at QB and I think they have their way in the trenches (essentially the same team that was shredded by Terrelle Pryor in Rose Bowl last year...similar QBs and Cam is a more physical runner and more consistent passer)
3. Line play....Auburn dominates the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against the Ducks...hate to say finesse but theyre not strong enough at point of attack to move Auburns D-line consistently...and Oregons D-line is undersized and should get swallowed up by Auburns big boys (again watch last years Rose Bowl....Oregons offensive line was getting pushed back into Masoli all game and on defense they werent able to match the physicality of a power line and backs that ran hard)
I want Oregon to win so I don't hear the SEC chant all night but I think theyre outmatched physically in this one...SEC teams are battle-tested from running the gauntlet of their conference schedule each year and I think its showed in their overall BCS performances
Auburn 38 Oregon 24

I'm biased of course but just like when we played Alabama I had specific reasons why I thought we would win I have reasons about this game......
Pretty much though the game is an unknown because yeah we know that Oregon can score but who have they really played? My reason is pretty much what pie said. I don't know how battle tested Oregon is. Unless they Auburn has a very bad turnover game Oregon can't stop them. If LSU and Bama can't Oregon can't.
BUT Auburn's defensive secondary leaves alot to be desired.......Auburn doesn't play wr screens well. But also like pie said Oregon doesn't have that one elite super star at wr that it seems like every sec team has. I don't really buy this whole speed thing......It's funny that people are acting like we are slow. Our corners are fast they are rarely burnt it's the playing the ball in the air that kills us.
Another unknown is I don't know how we will play options. I do know that there won't be alot of handing the ball on us running and we can't stop it. But I don't know how well Auburn will play gap assignment football. I'm also worried about our open field tackling. Couple of players on our team go for too many kill shots. While we are one of the most hardest hitting teams that can get you killed against an offense like this. I would feel so much better if we had Savage who is out for the season. He was our best db.
We should see what Thomas is made of. He will have to make decisions on the fly. Oregon is gonna have to double Fairly and they still won't stop him so that means someone else on our d-line is gonna have a chance to make some big plays.
Last thing Auburn's special teams worry me. Our punter is horrible. Our punt returner almost cost us the bama game. Oregon's Harris is one of if not the best returner in the country. Cal stopped Oregon's offense. ( I know the fake hurt thing but it's not like they were doing it every play they still held them to 17) UT actually did a pretty good job at least for a half. They were in the game until a horrible throw for a pick 6 and Harris returning a punt then the wheels pretty much came off. If Auburn can get Oregon to have one of those 14 point halves then I think Auburn will win.
With all that being said of course I'm saying Auburn wins. Also the fact that Trak picks Oregon makes me feel a little better. He's like Corso you hope he doesn't pick you. I'm pretty sure he picked Auburn to lose every ranked game they played. (The hate is strong in that man) San Fran sucks so of course he has to hate on my team.......

Announcers..... I like Andre Ware, Kirk H, Mark May, Reece Davis, the guy with vern (can't stand vern he hardly ever knows what he's talking about) Craig James, Todd Blacklage, Musberger.
Basketball I love Hubie Brown. It's like he teaches you basketball while you watching. He also tells you little things that only a coach would know like how most teams will play a specific player and players strengths and weaknesses. He's my favorite announcer period. I also like Van Gundy. He will say it like it is. He will say a guy sucks. He will say when there was a bs call. When a guy flops all of that stuff.
I can't stand Holtz. He is too biased. If it's a team he's coached for he won't ever tell you the real with them. Also if I had to listen to him call Stephen Garcia Jeff one more time I was going to scream. It seems like somebody in the studio would have told him what he was doing during one of the breaks.
I don't like Jesse Palmer for the same reasons I don't like Trent Dilfer. I know you have to do your job but you guys sucked. The super harsh criticism's trips me out when you were a liability your entire career.
The Vern dude is too dramatic and half the time he's wrong. He's great at setting stuff up. Like one of my favorite moments was after Cam had that crazy run against LSU when they showed the replay he said something like Get ready to watch a young man tap into his unlimited potential or something like that. But then there are plays where all you have to do is watch the replay and he just can't see it.
I don't too much like Bob Davie. With him a coach is never wrong. There isn't a bad decision a coach can make in his eyes.
Listening to Shannon Sharpe gets on my nerves. I don't care for Tom Jackson but he had alot of class while giving Corso his lifetime award. I can't hardly listen to Irvin. Lots of times he knows what he's talking about but he is just too crunk! Damn just calm down and stop laughing all the time!
I love Deion Sanders. I'm the type of guy that loves and arrogant guy that backs it up. If you think about the greatest athletes are arrogant. So I love Jordan, Ali, Sanders, Marino, Ray Lewis, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley. Guys like that. So I respect whatever he has to say about a qb or db. It's funny when he's right about stuff like how he said Malcolm Jenkins wasn't a corner he's a safety and Jenkins is playing great at safety now and he sits back with the I told you so face.
Also the week Andre Johnson and Finnegan got into the fist fight was great. He was so funny talking during the replay of the fight and the Coach Marriuci brought out the film when Sanders fought Rison. THEN Sanders brought out the film later in the game when he had like a 95 yard pick and commentated during the run back. "Run down the sideline, look at the team, do a little dance for the fans, now.......pose! Take the picture! LMAO!!! I love stuff like that!

Nfl network pregame during the texans/ravens game: matt millen is talking about how great troy polamalu is and that he the best safety in the league. Cameras cuts to deion afterwards...deion holding a cell phone up to his ear.."matt, I have ed reed on the phone. He wants to talk to u" the set start cracking up. hilarious

i have auburn winning, i think newton comes up with some big runs towards the end of the game to hold on.
as for announcers, for football i can't stand corso, mark may, or holtz. Holtz wouldn't say shit if he had a mouth full of it. May hates wvu lol, and corso sounds like an idiot half the time. Also i don't really care for erin andrews, not sure if she counts as an announcer but she has gotten by wayy to much on her looks.
for basketball of course i love tony caridi lol.... there is one person i hate, it is brent musberger.... i don't enjoy how he will be saying a line and then talk like he is either A) having a heart attack or B) hasn't pooped in 3 weeks and is trying to push it out...

Auburn should take this one pretty handily. A lot of people are basically breaking it down as Small/Fast vs Big/Strong. Problem is, it's Small/Fast vs Big/Strong/Just as Fast. Don't see the Ducks enjoying their day.
As far as announcers go, Tom Jackson, Shanon Sharpe, Marshall Faulk (especially), Trent Dilfer, and Rod Woodson can go somewhere else. These guys talk like they still play. Constantly throwing praise at their former teams (can't knock them for that really), and dogging any teams they were Rivals of. Yes, Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi will praise the Patriots all day, but they'll also be the first to call them out on their dumb shit. Tom Jackson will never have crediility with thePatriots or their fans, dating back to his infamous "the Patriots hate their Coach" comments after Lawyer Malloy was traded. I'll give him this, he stuck to that story all the way up to the Pats making it to the Super Bowl against the Rams. He even tried to approach Belichick before that game, to which the Coach told him to fuck off. Since then, he rarely ever addresses anything about New England, and you can tell it kills him whenever he has to say something good about the team or the coach. Marshall Faulk is even worse. He still can't believe the Pats beat the Rams when his boys were supposed to be the new Dynasty, but his grudge goes back to when the Colts and Pats were both in the AFC East, and Indy received regular beatdowns. He'll never actually say anything good about the Patriots. He even went as far as saying the other night on NFL Network, that even though Brady has a better winning record and more Championships, Peyton Manning will be known for having the better career and should be considered the best winner as a QB in history. His reason was that Manning was a #1 Pick and starter from Day 1 who had to go through the struggles, while Brady didn't play until his third season (even though he started winning right away). Guys like Irving and Sanders, while completely over the top, will at least give credit where it's due to all teams, not just the ones they played on. And while Irving tends to side with the Diva players more often, at least you can't call it a act, since he was one himself.

I don't have any rooting intrest in this game at all, but I think that Auburn will win and I guess since Cole is a Auburn fan I will root for them. Also when we played down there a couple years ago, our fans had nothing but great things to say about the Tiger faithful. I just hope it's as good of a game as I think it's gonna be.
As for announcers that I hate, Lee Corso is a senile old retard, Lou Holtz has no business having any speaking role at all and he is so biased it aint funny, not a big fan of Herbstireit, but at least he can say a bad thing about Ohio St. if he has to. Lou Holtz blows ND every second of his slurring, spitting life. Plus he beat my Mountaineers in the 88 Fiesta bowl!!! Even though I'm a Lions fan, I can't Chris Speilman and Millen, but I guess I should hate Millen anyway since he made the franchise worse than it ever was.
Not really anyone that sticks out as far as loving, I don't pay too much attention, sometimes I'll even watch on TV and let our play by play guy Tony Caridi play on the radio.

In Corso's defense...he had a stroke about 2 years ago which is why hes really struggled on air the past couple of seasons I like the Al Michaels/Collinsworth team and Jaws/Gruden on MNF....Buck/Aikman have their moments...I miss the days of Madden/Summerall and Keith Jackson doing college games Im also not big on listening to average NFL players who like to roast current players like they are all-knowing... (ex. Trent Dilfer, Merrill Hoge) Not a fan of Millen, Bob Griese, Mark May, Lou Holtz, Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe....Rodney Harrison/Dungy on SNF are knowledgeable but the pre-game show is boring to me because of their personalities

You're in Arizona? Oh you're not are you? Let me guess you read what a west coast reporter told you.... I'm sure with all the distractions all of the big games and even the pressure of the sec championship game auburn went to Glendale and packed it up and said whelp we're here and forgot about a championship game.
