I know this is a little bit of old news already, but what do you guys think Miami will face in NCAA sanctions? The call for the Death Penalty just aren't realistic. While yes, things over there in south Florida were just as bad as SMU, the caliber of program would dictate that the penalty won't be nearly as severe. Plus with the amount of revenue that the U generates for the NCAA, I doubt they really want to bite one of their stronger feeding hands too hard. Add to the fact that the NCAA's infractions head was also Miami's AD during the time of the scandal, it's a little touchy. If they really want to start cracking down, they might as well take a long look at all 120 teams. Because a report now is linking Alabama (haven't seen the actual article, heard it on the radio) to the same things. And I just don't see them taking out the Tide. I know USC got put on probation for the whole Reggie Bush/Pete Carroll thing, but besides the loss of Bowl eligibility and a couple of scholarships, no one's really complaining about them being treated too harshly. Now if it were Midd Tenn State? Oh yeah, their entire team would be disbanded.

And here I was hoping this was a thread about my upcoming game with Ed's Miami... ;D
I don't know ... I know I'd like to see the death penalty just for the spectacle of it. However, there would be a lot of indirect harm done as a result of that. So I guess a firm slap on the wrist ... enough to impact them for the next several years and make them think twice about doing it next time, but not enough to do any permanent damage.

It's always good to see a train wreck...unless you are on the train. My brothers are big sc fans. When the whole sc reggie bush ordeal went down, they were optimistic nothing hard would happen. Now that they are in the second year of non postseason play, its safe to say the usc my brothers know is dead and gone. 8 years or so after ohio state shocked miami in the national title game, the nail in that coffin will be driven in. I say another ten years before they are nationally relevant again. Luckily like usc and ohio state, miami is in fertile recruiting ground and can get back in their feet rather quickly once the punishment has been dealt. but the punishment for miami will be severe. Ncaa has made it clear that the only folks clearly able to enjoy the fruits of millions of revenues brought to the school is those who brought the least to the table.

The NCAA Director of Infractions Comity that nailed USC - which led to Reggie's banishment and Heisman loss - was none other than a man named Paul Dee, namely, Miami's Athletic Director from 1993 - 2008. Mr. Dee, as NCAA Director of Infractions (and enforcement), based USC's probation on the rationale that USC should've known about Reggie's perks. Well well Mr. Morality, what did you know and not know from 2002-2008 at Miami, and why not? I freaking love that they are in hot water!!! One of the dirtiest programs on earth and I pray they get the death penalty even though they won't!!

agreed they will probably never get the death penalty but definitely deserved it. The only way i see any of this stopping is partnering with the NFL or something of that nature.
