Offense:
Runs a Multiple style offense. Saw Ace, I-Form, Pistol, Shotgun, and in short yardage the Wishbone throughout the game. Prefers to bounce almost all running plays to the edge, and due to talent difference if he got there was generally a decent gain. Came out at one point in Pistol Strong (FB, TE to same side HB behind QB) and ran counter to the weak side. Hit this one play twice on a drive, one for a big gain the other for 6. When throwing he seemed to favor a pro-style attack (short passes) and probably hit more curls than I could count. Overall balanced offense.
Defense:
Runs a 3-4. Didn't seem to blitz as often as I would've expected. When presented with 4-5 WR would come out in Nickle/Dime. This resulted in a couple big gains by my HB up the middle of his defense. Corners play a lot of press coverage and seemed to be mostly man. Fortunately my WR corps is decent and we were able to beat him deep once. User controlled the safety most often, and after hitting him with a couple runs walked him into the box to try and slow it down.
Special Teams:
Nothing to note. Whether intentional or not, on kickoffs he only got the ball to about 1-yard deep giving return man a decision to run or not.
We ended up getting disconnected with 2:40 remaining in the 3rd and neither of us having time to restart. I opted to let Cole finish out the game (asking to not blow me out which he didn't). At that point it was 28-24 in his favor and he had the ball.
Stats were comparable at time of disconnect.
GG Cole. Wish we could've completed the whole thing. Good luck rest of the season.
