Since you guys - and Ed - seem to be the only ones who check on here, figured I'd throw a little bit of deserved praise your way. I honestly hate playing you two, lol. I'm sure pretty much everyone here feels the same way, and it's probably for the same reason. What makes you guys so difficult is that neither of you stray from your plan. Very simple, very precise, and maddening if you can't stop it. You force your opponent to play not perfectly, but with as much discipline as you do, and that's a lot to ask. People get nervous when they can't score every couple drives. Not sure why it is you guys don't, but it's commendable. I try, but I know I get frustrated at times, and that's how a close game turns into a 5 turnover blowout. Now defensively, you guys call ridiculously good games. I've played Cole enough to where I can kinda guess at times what he wants to do, but even then, he'll catch me pretty good. Even in all the years of playing here, I've maybe faced Stokes 3 or 4 times total, so I still really have little to go on when facing him. Your defense seems so simple, but it's crazy complex in how "simple" you have made it. You can pretty much take any team and make it work. But that makes it fun, and why I'll continually tell people from other dynasties that you two are arguably the most difficult, non-cheese-on-a-stick players I have ever faced. So as much as I hate seeing your names on my schedule, I enjoy the challenge. Just need to get my win percent closer to 50 vs either of you, and I'll be fine.
Feel free to praise me as well, lol.

Just now seeing this.....I always tried to make my style be more controlled if you make a mistake it's over games. I've only lost a big lead a couple of times I can ever remember. Worked well for me in the past but it sucks when you lose cuz more than likely it will be close and you will replay every little mistake you make like bad reads and every little time the cpu screws you like dropped passes and ints in your head over and over and over. I think the thing that helps me the most is I have a very good memory and after so many times I remember peoples plays and stuff. Now the problem I'm having this year is there are certain plays I know are coming and I know where people will want to go but I don't know how to make my guys cover it. That's what's holding me back right now. And the fact I have a suck offense. You are probably the most improved dude I have played that I can remember from the beginning. It could be ed but I haven't played him that many times in this year's version. You know how to make your guys play ridiculous coverage in this years game and that's what set you apart from everybody else I have played so far. Your guys will cover slants, corners, posts, and curls. Very frustrating and I don't know how you do it. You user control your linebacker very good as well. About as good as I have seen and I have done. (Well maybe not me in 2010. 2010 was my year) Stokes has always controlled the free safety and he's about the best I've seen doing that. I won't lie I don't like the line shifting and all of that stuff. I feel like that's just taking advantage of the o line AI. I feel once somebody figures that out it will mess you up when you can't do it as well. Right now I will give you the nod though that defense you play especially coverage wise is better than mine. Give me tips......If you do though I will become dominant and make it hell for you in these dynasties but it will make you better in the long run. I've already decided to start playing online games and that should make me alot better. It did in the other games. I just didn't have time earlier but I think time is going to free up now. Oh and blade you only played me once THIS year......you remember those other games don't you

I would agree with wht you're saying Gj. Cole and stokes are two of my favorite guys to play as well. I like how we have a core group of 6 or so guys who have been in this thing for the long haul and each has their own distinctive style. Some guys are just realllllly good on defense lol

Oh and blade you only played me once THIS year......you remember those other games don't you That was like in 08 or 09? This year game is so different from those versions. And you had GT and the TO. And I also remember being up 21-7 in the 2nd qtr before I got disconnected. But those old versions, having a stout just required you either having a 3-3-5/4-2-5 defense or a fast user-controlled FS in a regular base D. I sometimes miss those days. Where I could be on the left sideline with a FS and int a Go route on the right side. Then run it back easily. Ahh those were the days....

nah b, I think you got me mixed up. I had gt and not the other team. And no you haven't had me down 21-7 that I ever remember. I don't ever remember a close game. And I didn't play sports games in 08. First game I had was 09 and I don't think you were in it. I believe I remember you coming when we had that dynasty vs dynasty thing. I don't remember if our guys made me the 1 seed or 2 but I do remember beating either your dynasties top guy or 2 by 56. Now 11 I didn't get good until season 2 maybe that's when you're talking about cuz in 10 no way in hell.

Well, thank you very much for the compliment!
I'm very proud of the fact that we have a core group of players as well, that have stuck it out through thick and thin. Unfortunately, the days of all of us having ample amounts of time to devote to playing, recruiting, and getting better at the game, have gone by the wayside. Definitely a credit to Ed for keeping this thing going. We may not be the 'best' dynasty around anymore, but at the top of our game, I don't think that was in question at all, and I'm insanely proud to have been a part of that. I remember challenging another dynasty, and us doing work on em. I remember the insane amount of trash trak would speak for years and years even without winning a damn thing. I miss those days...but certainly wouldn't give those memories up.
Over the last couple years, I've become more of a madden head(mainly because I can play Madden for money, and make a killing. lol). The only games I play anymore for NCAA are this dynasty, and this is the reason I still have NCAA.
My defense has become a lot more basic over the NCAA years. When I first got to AFCA, on a mission to defeat Trak(which I did...QUITE WELL), I was a super aggressive player on defense, blitzing all day long. "Pressure Busts Pipes", is still one of my favorite sayings. I've come to become more of a soft pressure type of player, relying on letting QB's make mistakes, rather than forcing them. I still get in moods in games where I want to bring a lot of pressure, and that's when I think I had the 'most' fun. When you send pressure, as the user defender, if you make the wrong read to cover up the weakness of your blitz, you are going to get hammered for a big gain, an that's what I think I have excelled at over the years...covering the weakness in a specific defense, and letting my instincts in the game take me to where I think the ball is going. I still feel like safety is the most impactful(positive and negative) position a person can user, and being proficient at it, makes the whole game easier.
Back to the topic, I thank you for the compliment GJ, and I'm happy to have spent a good deal of time playing you in games over the years. You've helped make me get better as a player, because I learn something each time we play. Whether it is a certain route that will beat a certain defense I'm in, or something I learn on the offensive side, I learned something new to improve myself each time I played you, and the same goes for Cole, and just about everyone through the Dynasty (Except Trak. lol. That dude ran the SAME offense for like 3 straight NCAA titles. At least he was consistent, eh?)
No matter what happens going forward with AFCA, I'll look back on what we've already gone through, and always consider it some of the most fun I've had being a part of a small community.

I looked at that site and browsed thru it. I saw some gaming tips and they are the cheesiest tips i ever saw. It basically said just start the fastest and tallest WR/CBs on a roster, no matter the ovr. Place the 3rd fastest CB at FS, no matter the ovr. If your starter HB is a 90 ovr with 90 speed and his backup is 75 with 95 speed start the backup. LBs at DE, strong and fast DE at DT, etc. Stokes does everyone play like this?

On that site, yes. There are no rules, aside from no glitching.
They would be the cheesiest games of your life, but isn't that what you'd expect when you're playing for cash? lol.
You can win with straight play, you just have to be really good.

Damn, that sounds like every roster restriction ever. But like you said, what else would you expect when cash is on the line. A very interesting concept, though. Too bad I just couldn't get into Madden.
