Who do you want your team to draft?
I want my niners to get the best available player. In a perfect world we get Patrick Peterson or Cam Newton but i think neither will be there at pick seven. That said we got alot of picks and Harbaugh will be able to improve our offense regardless of what qb is back there. Other than newton or gabbert, I don't see any qb that we should pick high. Maybe Ponder but Harbaugh made Luck a Number 1 pick and his arm strength is far from elite. hes accurate and newton and gabbert apparently are that. If neither cam or peterson are available, I would like Julio jones.

i want my ravens to take jimmy smith at cornerback... he has been known as a headcase but also has the talent to be a shutdown corner... i think the veterans like lewis and reed could keep him in check. then in the 2nd round we need to go after a receiver or pass rusher. last year suggs did very well but offensive lines were able to shift their focus and double him.
and no, i don't feel mr newton could be a franchise qb... more to come later on my thoughts on him

People are saying Mark Ingram might drop to the Pats. don't see that happening at pick 17, and in all reality we'll probably trade at least one of our first round picks anyway. It's what Belichick does, he trades like a kid with pokemon cards. I want us to go after the best pass rushers available, which there are a good amount available this year. Just hope we don't let another Clay Matthews pass us by

Do u guys think Cam is a franchise qb? I think if you have a good qb coach and all the physical tools, you can succeed in this league. We had jeff garcia and steve mariucci coaching him. alex smith's best season was with norv turner. We have harbaugh now and from his background, he is great at developing qbs. His brother was able to foster flacco's best year as a pro. so if cam is taken by carolina then ron rivera should have someone who will develop similar to what norv did with philip rivers. That said, I think cam will not flourish at carolina. Carolina being a southern market, he will have the backing to do well. I just think his surrounding talent will not be comparable to the level of talent around him at auburn (great backs, line, offensive coordinator)

not only that trak, but i don't feel like cam has the urge to put in the work once he gets drafted. It is no secret that he has the physical tools to succeed in the league, but the real question is will he put in the work with tape study and knowing the playbook, or will he be a headcase like vince young?

There is nothing saying cam is lazy or don't put in work as there isn't any other qb. People just love to try to find something. I think luck will be a bust but u won't hear too many say it. Qb is a roll of the dice most important thing is a run game and someone to throw to. If flaco tebow and mccoy can have people think they're franchise players no reason people should really doubt cam. He didn't get through the sec being lazy. When he came to auburn he was known for working out hard staying late and he learned the playbook in a summer. He'll have adjustments to make but if it's a question about him being a qb then there should literally be a question for every single qb that ever comes out from college to the nfl

Rivera brought the tight end coach from san diego to run the offense in carolina. cam will have jonathan stewart and d'angelo williams so it should work out for him.

Exactly, Cole. I don't know where that stuff comes from. I'm an Auburn grad and one of those guys that can't help but to check out the Auburn football news blogs at lease a couple times a day when there is activity. So I've been in a position over the past year to have followed the Cam Newton Saga from the beginning. When Cam got to school last summer, all the coaches talked about was how hard he worked to learn the plays and get tight with his teammates. They didn't know he was going to be Mr. Heisman Winner, Top 10 Draft Pick at the time, so I can't see any motivation behind those comments besides them just truly being impressed by his effort. The same comments carried through all year. Also, I don't know if you read about his preparation for the NFL scouts, but he spent a lot of time working hard to improve his throwing motion and footwork. He was very open to the format of his workouts, even if it meant opening up the door for some failure. I think that shows he believes in himself and his work. Even with some of the failures, he got generally very positive reviews. During the season, once all the media scrutiny started, he went still performed exceptionally well. If you can put up with the name of you and your dad being tarnished like it had been, yet still stay focused and keep your team strong, that says a lot. Last thing is his awareness (not just an NCAA 11 rating!). If you watched a lot of Auburn's games last year, you may notice that he doesn't just take the ball, look downfield, and run it if nothing's open kind of guy. To me it seemed like he was always moving in slow motion, taking his time to find the open man or the best running lane. He'd freeze defenders up because he'd just wait for them to make a move and figure a way around it. If there was no option, he'd take the sack for a loss or throw it away rather than throwing a pick. You'll agree with me on that last point if you saw the first half of the Alabama game. It just amazed me how often he seemed to make the right decision. The only thing I can fault him for is his crazy after-game performances of running around blowing kisses to the crowd and otherwise sucking up the fan adoration. I think he might have gotten a bit of an ego through all that ... just maybe. Didn't seem to affect him on the field or with his teammates, though. In other words, I'm very impressed by that guy.
